About Jade

I am a Humanistic counsellor, which means that I focus on you as an individual and support you in developing self-awareness around thoughts, feelings and behaviours in your life, and the unhelpful patterns that we can sometimes find ourselves stuck in. I work relationally, co-creating a therapeutic relationship with you, through which we will explore any issues you may be experiencing, and work together to identify how you might bring about the changes you want to see in your life. By working in this way, we can also explore your role in relationships, helping you to understand how this may also be influencing your thoughts and feelings towards yourself and others.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis, which offers us practical tools and ways of exploring your world and the relationships within it, helping you to gain awareness of how you view the world and interact with others. This awareness can help you to understand what may be causing some of the issues you may be struggling with, as well as supporting you in making empowering changes to your life.

I work with adults and children aged 11+. I often work creatively with clients, which can help you to express feelings when it might be difficult to put words to them. This is particularly helpful for young clients, but many adults also enjoy working in this way. However, this isn’t for everyone, and it is important that we use the space to work in a way that suits you, and at your pace.

I have a particular interest in working with young people; it is always a privilege to observe the changes young clients can make to their lives with the help of a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to express and explore their world and the many difficulties that often come with these formative years.

I also work with clients who have experienced sexual violence. I work with them to explore the impact it has had on their lives, supporting them in making positive changes and regaining autonomy over their lives.

Let's see if we are the right fit.

There are many different types of counselling available, and each therapist will have a slightly different approach. It’s important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with, as well as making sure you are comfortable with how they work.

I offer an initial 15-minute telephone session which is free of charge, to answer any questions you may have and to give you a bit of an idea of who I am and how I work. From there you can decide whether you would like to go ahead and book a session with me.
